LG's KS20
Oi, say 'ello to 12.8-mm thin LG KS20, the 3.2Mbps HSDPA cuz to their KU990 touchscreen hottie. Although the KS20 shares much of the looks of the KU990, they've actually trimmed back the display to 2.8-inches (compared to 3-inches on the KU990) while acing that 5.1 megapixel shooter for a skimpy, business-minded 2 megapixeler all riding atop a Windows Mobile 6.0 OS. Expected Q4 in Europe running on some of that Vodafone carrier action, at least. We'll be sure to get up close and personal with it at IFA later in the week if that's ok with you. Thought so.
As expected, today during its IFA press conference, LG officially unveiled the LG KS20, LG's brand now Prada look-alike Windows Mobile 6 Professional HSDPA smartphone with a large color touchscreen. Its super-fast network access capabilities and intuitive touch input technology combine to enrich the mobile internet experience for users. It features full internet browsing capabilities and downloads everything from music and video clips to push E-Mail at speed of 3.6 Mbps through HSDPA. It also allows for advanced features like videoconferencing, taking advantage of the phone's dual cameras.
As expected, the handset is powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6 Professional and measures 99.5 x 58 x 12.8 mm at 95 g. The KS20 supports triband (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as singleband UMTS and HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps. Furthermore it supports Bluetooth 2.0 but WiFi support is left. The QVGA display measures 2.8" and supports the Windows Mobile typical 65k colors only. The 2 megapixel autofocus CMOS is located on the back, on the front the device features a VGA camera for UMTS video telephony. Photos and videos can be stored on 128 MB ROM which can be extended through microSD memory cards.
Mobile Phones
LG has launched its first Windows Mobile 6 phone and if it was a cake, all the fat people would be queueing up around the block to get their hands on not just one, but a whole box. Arms would flail, rolls of gadget-obsessed fat would bounce around and almost everyone would come away injured. And hungry. But LG won't care because it'll be too busy telling the world about this Prada-esque beaut -- the KS20.
LG KS20:
Here’s LG KS20, a slim and stylish 3G smartphone that pretty much looks like LG’s answer to the iPhone. It’s powered by Windows Mobile 6 and among the features we find a full-front 2.8" QVGA touchscreen, 3.6 Mbps HSDPA, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a full Web browser, natural handwriting recognition, a 2 megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom (along with a low-res camera on the front for video calls), FM-radio and MicroSD-based storage.
