The announcement was made by Orange's Connor Maples over Twitter, who said: "Good news: The new BlackBerry Torch 9800 with BlackBerry 6 will be coming soon to Orange UK. We will keep you posted with details..."
Orange join Vodafone as the first confirmed Torch-bearers for the UK, expected to hit stores in or around September. AT&T are so far the only American network carrying the device.
There are also rumours knocking about that O2 will be selling the Torch too, after their SIM cards were spotted in demo units yesterday, making for a potential hat-trick of UK carriers for what RIM are calling their "best BlackBerry ever".
There have surfaced reports suggesting RIM to also be launching its latest released BlackBerry Torch 9800 over Bell, Rogers, Telus, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone UK. The info was disclosed by Globe and Mail in its recent report. And, as far as confirmation of the same from the aforementioned wireless carriers is concerned; conforming the Globe’s report, Rogers in a press release said that it will launch the 9800 in “coming weeks’. Vodafone UK and Virgin Mobile have also confirmed the report with former to have done this over its twitter account while letter proved more civilized for launching a full fledge page over its website about it to soon be offering the new BlackBerry smartphone.
