Huawei Showcases its First Android Smartphone
Commercial launch in Q3.
Huawei Technologies (“Huawei”), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions worldwide, today showcased its first Android-powered smart phone at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This smart phone will be commercially available in the third quarter.
“Huawei is delighted to showcase its much anticipated first Android-powered smart phone. As a terminal solutions provider with all-round capabilities, Huawei has an acute insight into the drivers of the communications industry and in-depth understanding of operators,” said Mr. James Chen, Director of Huawei Terminal Marketing Department., “A pioneer in mobile broadband devices, we look forward to expanding a compelling mobile communications experience for end-users whilst providing customized services to our operator partners via the Android smart phone.”
Huawei partnered with an established design consultancy to develop a robust and user-friendly interface, creating a powerful customer experience that is able to evolve with operators’ differentiation requirements.
The Huawei Android phone joined the happy band of handsets packing Android inside at Mobile World Congress this week.
Unlike its peers, though, Huawei didn’t have a great deal to show other than an intriguing prototype and some feature lists. The Huawei Android phone: is it the real deal, or a stuck-in-concept-phase tease?

The Huawei Android phone was rumoured to be ready for launch at the Mobile World Congress, but instead of the expected demo models, all the Chinese brand could come up with was a solitary prototype in a glass display case.
The prototype wasn’t even functional as far as anyone could tell, but it still looked quite interesting.
It might not have an official name yet, but the Huawei Android Phone has a very iPhonesque look – remarkably so, in fact. The main difference at first glance is a horrible glowing bezel that looks like the kind of thing Jonothan Ive wakes up screaming about at night.
There is only one visible button – another very iPhone touch – which seems to fly in the face of other implementations like the G1 or the Magic, both of which have several buttons, trackballs, etc...
Huawei C7168 Cellular Phone Launch Party in China
Huawei, an unknown cellular phone manufacturer which is based in China, announced their latest multimedia cellular phone, the C7168 in their launch party in China. The Huawei C7168 is a multimedia-packed CDMA cellular phone which is designed to challenge Nokia and SonyEricsson. The spokeman of Huawei said that Huawei cellular phones will be sold in United States too. However, there isn’t any word that their cellular phones will be renamed under the names of more popular cellular phone makers like what Pantech did for their so called Nokia PN310 cellular phone which has just been approved by FCC.
Huawei C7168 Cellular Phone Launch Party in Chinatwo phones will be available later this year.
